Jekyll is a doctor who is friends with many other fellow doctors; Jekyll is more specifically a physician and one of his many friends just so happens to be a physician too Mr. Gabriel John Utterson. Antagonist I believe the antagonist of the story is Mr.Hyde. Although Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are technically the same person Hyde represents everything that Jekyll is not as a person. Mr. Hyde is mean and very violent person that doesnt care what anyone else thinks. Hyde was created by Jekyll to be able to become someone different other than his normal polite self. Mr. Hyde is a more evil and dark side to Dr. Jekyll. Plot summary On a walk the lawyer Mr. Utterson listens to his great friend Enfield tell a very violent story. The story is about a man named Mr. Hyde who brutally beat and killed a very young girl, Hyde disappeared in a door on the street near him and returns as a young gentleman with a check to paynthengirls parents off. Utterson dont believe the story he just heard; Enfield doesnt even believe,the story he had just told. Therefor the gentlemen agree to not speak of the story ever again. Utterson later notices that one of his clients and close friend has just wrote a new will stating that all of his property and belongings will go to this Mr. Hyde he had just heard of. Very soon Utterson starts having these recurring nightmares about a man haunting the streets of what it seems like to be London. Confused and very intrigued Utterson decides to give Dr. Jekyll a visit along with his acquaintance Dr. Lanyon. Layon admits that he doesnt really see Jekyll anymore because they got into a argument over Jekylls work. Utterson decides to take things into his own hands and he goes to the place where Enfield said Hyde entered. Utterson is surprised when he finds out that the door that Hyde had entered just so happened to be a lab hooked up to the back of Jekylls house. Then Suddenly Utterson runs into Hyde and is very shocked by how ugly and unattractive Hyde is. Hyde soon with no argument gives up the address where Jekyll is. Dr. Jekyll very soon tells Dr. Utterson that he has no business messing with Hyde and he should stay away from him. Roughly one year passes and a girl watches Mr. Hyde very brutally beat down and kill a elderly man named Sir Danvers Carew. The polices very soon contact Utterson about the murder because Danvers was one of his clients. Utterson tells the police that be suspects that Hyde was the murderer. Utterson soon lead the police to the laboratory where he encountered Hyde. The weather that morning had been covered in a immense amount of dark fog. When the police and Utterson arrive and notice that Hyde is nowhere around. Utterson soon personally visits Jekyll after the police has gone and Jekyll states that he has is no longer associating with Hyde. Jekyll shows Utterson a note written by Hyde stating that he is is sorry for everything he has caused and is leaving; Utterson takes the note and leaves. Later that day one of Uttersons clerks points out that Hyde and Jekylls handwriting is very similar. A few months go by and Jekylls acts like himself again; he is being nice, kind, and finally accepting visitors again. But then very soon Jekyll goes back to his old ways by not accepting visitors. Very soon Lanyon passes away but before he passes he gives Utterson a lettercand says not to open it until Jekyll has passed away too. Later on, Utterson and Enfield are going on a normal walk they do, and they approach Jekyll at his window, and they all being to converse until Jekyll gets this ghostly like look on his face and slams the windows shut.

There is an increase of 9.7 % since 2000. The data shows that the male population grew 9.9%, which is more rapidly than the female population, which was 9.5%. Out of 308.7 million people, 151.8 were male and 157 million were female. People under the age of 18 were 112.8; people of age 45-64 were 81.5 million. The 40.3 million people of the 308.7 were age 65 and over (Howden, Meyer, 2011). In 1988, Professor Jeanne Dise-Lewis conducted a survey of 700 middle school students. The students were asked to rate certain events as to the stress they causes. The death of a parent or close family member was the only thing that outranked divorce (Zinsmeister, 1996). A divorce in the family creates a major life change for most children. Loss of contact with friends, schoolmates, neighbors, teachers, and sometimes moving to a new location may bring a lot of psychosocial stress upon the children, and that stress can be very harmful. Since the divorce boom started in the 1960's, father-mother divorces have increased at an alarming rate. Today more than 1,000,000 kids experience a divorce in the family every year in the United States alone (U.S.A. Today, p. 8). As a result of the divorce, many children live in single-parent homes. Is it fair to say that everyone is a sexist and/or a bigot? I will be blunt enough to affirm that hypothesis, bases on the fact that our borrow values and our social construct drive us in that direction. As Mr.. Anthony Porter verbally expresses in his lecture â€Å"A Call to Men† we must break from the so called â€Å"MAN BOX† and teach boys and men that not being part of the mainstream male dominant society is perfectly correct.The power that an mage holds has depicted many things in American culture during the 20th and 21st centuries; such as propaganda, stereotyping, and the demutualization of minority groups. In the same form, the power of words, which can lift a person, has brought down ethnic groups all over the world. Words have power; they can inspire, incite, can be hateful, can terrify, can be destructive and intimidating, as well as have consequences†¦ In the museum, I observed a propaganda poster from 1917 that stated: â€Å"Gee!! I wish I were a man, I'd join the Navy.Be a man and do it – United States Navy recruiting station (artist Howard Chandler Christy 1917). The poster showing a young woman in a Navy uniform during World War l. † As I read and saw the visual I was livid not only about the sexism, but also about the exploitation of woman through the painting as sexual objects†¦ How is it that we live in a world where in some countries it is a crime to be born a female? We live in a time where one out of three women is victimized by men (father, brothers, uncles, husband, or boyfriend).They experiment domestic abuse, traditional abuse, rape, and are trafficked†¦ In some cultures if a woman is proven to eve committed adultery she will be murdered or maimed (honor killings). These crimes are committed against women in the name of religion. A man will take sexual control over a woman by sexual organ mutilation or female circumcisions; which is practiced without any medical training and is commonly performed in countries like Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.This procedure is done lacking anesthesia and bring infections, shock, and death due to hemorrhage. In Kenya a women's advocacy group has developed the term â€Å"Circumcision through Words† in order to prevent the female mutilations. Seven million women are trafficked annually for sexual slavery, the Russian mafia high risk of contraction Stud's, rape, drug addiction (and abuse to cope), torture, and rape†¦ This is a seven billion dollar a year â€Å"business and to my surprise, in some countries it is perfectly legal to sell a female into any type of slavery.In the Unites States a female is victimized by men every two minutes ranging in age from sixteen to nineteen years of age and less than 5 of the victims report their assault. One to three million women is battered annually and one to four will be murdered by their husband or significant life partner. This sexist and abusive behavior must be detained and we as an aware society must inculcate to our boys and men that a woman is not a sexual object or the pun of sexual anecdotes. It is easy to write off bigotry to extremists, but how do you stop it from occurring?In my opinion, we can stop bigotry through tolerance. With the discipline to ho ld back and learn to co-exist, to respect thy fellow human and to pursue in harmony our goals as a positive society. In my walk through the museum I came upon a section entitled Globalize. Com which features touch screen computer terminals that have unmasked the danger of a one sided story; the story of hatred. The proliferation of hate through the internet is greater than I thought, in fact it showed me how extremely saturated it actually is.The Karri Cultural Institute or KICK is an Iranian institution with an on-line fifty-seven page book, which claims that the Holocaust genocide was a lie. The Fate Kids is a HAMS site which published a comic strip in which â€Å"EVIL ZIONISTS† made beautiful toys that were actually bombs that were used to kill innocent Palestinians; they also used this comic strip to recruit children to come Jihad. People such as Doll Hitler, Stalin, the K. K. K founders 0. Calvin Jones, Frank O.McCoy, John B. Kennedy, John C. Lester, James R. Crower, and Richard R. Reed), and Osama Bin Laden have been extremist bigots who have committed genocide than being tolerant of others. We must assume responsibility and take a stand against bigotry, initiate a Diversity and Tolerance group in our community, remember to always dialogue not scream, to commit to assist meetings, empower, support and above all educate people on what it meaner to be a bigot and how can we help to stop it.
